Passe Blanc is an independent editorial project about racial passing, the American color line, and the stories that live on either side of it. It treats passing as lived history, not a puzzle to solve or a verdict to deliver.

Every story names its sources, and every source link opens where the work is held: libraries, museums, archives, and the publishers of record. Site prose is original. Passe Blanc reproduces no film stills, book covers, or copyrighted excerpts, and it collects nothing from readers: no accounts, forms, analytics, or third-party scripts.

Private histories are not spectacle. We write about public works and public lives, and we follow the words people chose for themselves. Corrections are welcome and will be published with the story they change.
